Probate & Estate Administration

Probate or estate administration is the process by which the wishes of the decedent as expressed in a will and/or estate plan is carried out once a person has passed away.

Probate proceedings are required if the decedent left a will that requires court approval in order to transfer certain assets or take certain actions, whereas administering an estate is the more generic term used to refer to the process that occurs if someone has assets that pass outside the probate process, such as those in a trust or those exempt from probate.

Depending on the size of the estate and its complexity, probate/estate administration can be an easy or an incredibly complicated process.

Nevertheless, regardless which variety of estate is involved, the difficult or the less complicated one, experienced probate and estate administration attorney Max J. Paul of the Law Offices of Max J. Paul regularly works with clients in need of an experienced attorney to help them carry out the wishes of a recently deceased relative or family member in administering the decedent’s estate.
